The Undressing Issue: Do I need to get naked?

Short answer:   No.

Here’s what you need to know:

The massage is about you and it’s important you feel comfortable. For some people this means leaving some clothing on, for others, it means taking it all off. There is no right or wrong. It’s is your massage.

No matter what, you’ll always be draped (covered) with a sheet and sometimes a blanket. You’ll never be left feeling exposed or chilly. Only the area that is being worked on is exposed for treatment and the sheet is always tucked in and secured. When we work on the back, we fold the drape down to the hips. If you’re wearing underwear we gently tuck the sheet around the waistband, to protect your clothes from massage oil. If you’re wearing a bra, we’ll work around it. If you’re wearing a tank top or long johns or wetsuit, we’ll work through it. We know plenty of effective massage techniques that can be administered over clothing. If we feel we can’t effectively treat your tissue through the clothing you’ve chosen to wear, we’ll tell you and we’ll figure out another approach.

We hope you enjoy your next massage!
